Lauren Cantell

Lauren Cantell serves as NNSTOY’s Chief of Staff and oversees programmatic and strategic planning efforts for NNSTOY. She has collaborated on projects such as the National Voya STEM Fellowship, NNSTOY's Build for Equity report, Teach for Equity course, Voices for Honest Education, Empathy Fellowships, Advisory Councils, and has led the planning of NNSTOY's annual conference for the past five years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University in Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Stockton College. Lauren is an advocate for social justice, social emotional learning, and creative expression and is committed to creating a world where equitable and excellent education is available for all students.

Prior to working at NNSTOY, Lauren was a classroom teacher at Mastery Charter Schools in Philadelphia.  While there, she taught early elementary students with an emphasis in guided reading. She assisted with the implementation and coaching of various literacy models for her school and the Mastery network.

Lauren lives in Los Angeles with her dog, Roscoe. She enjoys writing poetry, filmmaking, and going to clown and improv comedy shows.
