The Courses

I: ADULT LEARNING & LEADERSHIP

Leadership is critical for school and system improvement. This course will help you set leadership goals and lead your colleagues to address school-based challenges that positively impact student learning.

II: BRIDGING RESEARCH & PRACTICE

This course is designed to expand your knowledge of the research process and current promising practices to address current learning obstacles that educators and students face.

III: LEADING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

This course will help you reset professional learning so that it is more meaningful and relevant to students and teachers today. You will learn how to help colleagues take ownership for their professional growth and help them to design systems that are meaningful.

IV: HELPING COLLEAGUES IMPROVE INSTRUCTION

The global workforce demands a shift in the skills of workers today. Education is constantly changing to meet that demand, and teachers and students must change along with it. Learn how to work with other teachers and school administrators to identify when and where these shifts take place and improve instruction to accommodate students and their academic performance.

V: BUILDING A COLLABORATIVE DATA CULTURE

Using data to improve learning outcomes is extremely valuable, and data systems can help teachers design better lesson plans and learning strategies that improve student achievement. Learn how to collaborate with peers, school psychologists, counselors, special educators and other professionals involved to improve student performance.

VI: BUILDING POWERFUL FAMILY & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Substantial evidence indicates that parent engagement benefits students, increasing their motivation for learning, improving behavior and giving them a more positive attitude about school. Learn how to examine current family and community engagement practices and develop partnerships to gain a deeper understanding of your students’ experiences outside the classroom. Lead colleagues to re-imagine your relationships with family and community on behalf of student achievement.

VII: LEADING POLICY & ADVOCACY

Building effective advocacy outside the classroom results in strong education policy – which ultimately supports student achievement. In this course you will learn how educators can build teams to influence legislators and administrators. This positive engagement will enlighten them as they develop crucial education policies.
